Helen Arkell Spelling Test

The Helen Arkell Spelling Test (HAST-2) is a single word spelling test developed for teachers, specialist teachers, and educational psychologists to use with individuals from 5 years to adult. It can be administered individually or in groups, making it appropriate for use in schools and diagnostic assessments. It contains two parallel forms as well as a longer, combined form. Standardised scores, confidence intervals, percentile ranks and age equivalents are provided. Diagnostic grids have been developed to chart error types and assist with target setting. Support strategies for spelling are offered. A Basic Record Sheet is available in the manual, however a more detailed Diagnostic Record Sheet, which is photocopiable, may also be purchased separately.
