Have you ever wondered what our bestselling products were? Let us introduce them to you!
Customers like you can’t stop ordering these products for their assessment kits, and when we examine their features and benefits, we can certainly understand why.
1. DASH-2
Since its launch, the Detailed Assessment of Speed of Handwriting 2 (DASH-2) has become one of our most popular products!
It’s not hard to understand why, as DASH-2 enables you to identify children and young adults with handwriting speed difficulties.
The benefits of DASH-2 are that it provides standardised subtest scores for a variety of different handwriting tasks, and offers objective evidence on which to base applications for special accommodations in education settings.
It is suitable for both individual and group administration and offers reliability, based on nationally stratified normative samples of over 1000 children and young adults collected across the UK and Australia between 2021 and 2023.
DASH-2 includes 5 subtests that are administered and scored by hand and allow comparison of handwriting performance during written tasks with varying demands.
The DASH-2 subtests include:
- Copy Best
- Alphabet Writing
- Copy Fast
- Free Writing
- Graphic Speed
2. TORE
We launched the new Test of Retrieval Efficiency (TORE) earlier this year, and since then, TORE has simply been flying out the door! An innovative new assessment test, written and developed by Anna Smith, Louise van der Valk and Sophia Butler.
This new assessment allows you to assess a learner’s ability to recall simple information from long-term memory. It can be suitable for assessing learners with English as an Additional Language (EAL) as it does not require the learner to verbalise the answer.
You can administer TORE to a group of learners in one sitting, making it ideal for the classroom setting, as it is less disruptive to pupils and allows you to maximise your time. In contrast, traditional analogue tests, particularly rapid naming tasks, must be conducted individually.
The kit provides you with two subtests and a composite, all with excellent reliability. It has been normed on a group of 916 participants in the UK aged 13 to 19.
Earlier this year, TORE was also shortlisted for the Teach Secondary Awards!
3. CTOPP-2
The Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing, Second Edition (CTOPP2) is one of our most popular assessments, and we can see why! It is well regarded by professionals in the realms of both psychology and education and has an excellent, tried and true reputation.
This assessment is designed to measure reading-related phonological processing skills, which are crucial for reading fluency and can indicate potential learning disabilities like dyslexia.
This test involves individual administration, allowing you to focus on the learner, and is suitable for individuals aged between 4-24 years and 11 months old.
Participants are asked to carry out tasks involving elision, blending words and non-words, sound matching, phoneme isolation, segmenting non-words, memory for digits, non-word repetition, and rapid digit, letter, colour and object naming. The test takes about 40 minutes.
The benefits of this test are that it is well standardised, and there are many sub-tests available, allowing you to get an in-depth profile of the learner. This will enable you to embed truly personalised support and recommendations.
