Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing, Second Edition (CTOPP2)
Popular with professionals in psychology and education, the Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing, Second Edition (CTOPP2) assessment is designed to measure reading-related phonological processing skills, which are crucial for reading fluency and can indicate potential learning disabilities like dyslexia.
This test involves individual administration, allowing you to focus on the learner, and is suitable for individuals aged between 4-24 years and 11 months old.
Participants are asked to carry out tasks involving elision, blending words and non-words, sound matching, phoneme isolation, segmenting non-words, memory for digits, non-word repetition, and rapid digit, letter, colour and object naming. The test takes about 40 minutes.
The benefits of this test are that it is well standardised, and there are many sub-tests available, allowing you to get an in-depth profile of the learner.
CTOPP2 is one of our most popular assessments, and we can see why!
WIAT-lll Third UK edition for Teachers (WIAT-IIl UK-T)
The WIAT-lll Third UK edition for Teachers (WIAT-IIl UK-T) is suitable for teachers and other professionals involved in educational assessment, particularly for identifying academic strengths and weaknesses in students.
It is standardised on a national UK sample, making it highly relevant for use in UK educational settings.
The test covers Early Reading Skills, Reading Comprehension, Word Reading, Oral Reading Tests, and Spelling, and provides a detailed assessment of literacy skills, allowing for a nuanced understanding of a student's academic abilities.
It also allows for flexible administration. Examiners may choose to administer a single subtest, a subset of the WIAT-III-UK-T subtests, or all 5 subtests, depending upon the age level of the student, the purpose of the assessment, and the subtest scores required.
It can be used for students aged between 4-24 years and 11 months old.
The benefits of this assessment is that it can be used to provide evidence for applications for Access Arrangements and Disabled Students' Allowance, and also used as a baseline to assess progress for students over time.
This useful assessment is specifically made for teachers and is a popular choice for that very reason!
Test of Memory and Learning 2 (TOMAL2)

One of the particular benefits of the TOMAL2 is that it includes additional analyses of cultural impact to ensure a fair assessment of memory across diverse populations. It can assist in diagnosing memory disturbances and other conditions like learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and ADHD.
The test has high reliability, ensuring consistent and accurate results. This makes it one of our bestselling and highly recommended products!
Test of Word Reading Efficiency, Second Edition (TOWRE2)
The Test of Word Reading Efficiency, Second Edition (TOWRE2) is a quick and reliable way to assess the efficiency of sight word recognition and phonemic decoding in children and adults, providing education professionals, schools and psychologists with a reliable and valid measure of fluency and accuracy of print-based word-reading skills.
The TOWRE2 can help identify students who may need more intensive instruction in word reading skills early in their learning journey, however this test can also be used as part of a battery of tests to diagnose reading disabilities in older children and adults.
It has a suitable age range of 6 to 24 years 11 months.
Because it can be administered very quickly, the test provides an efficient means of monitoring the growth of two kinds of word reading skills that are critical in the development of overall reading ability. Another benefit of TOWRE2 is that it can be used to monitor progress in growth of word-level reading skills three or four times per year, allowing you to ensure that your learners are progressing.
With all these benefits, it’s no wonder that educators and psychologists love TOWRE2!
Gray Oral Reading Tests, Fifth Edition (GORT5)
The Gray Oral Reading Tests, Fifth Edition (GORT5), is one of the most widely used measures of oral reading fluency and comprehension.
This test offers several benefits for assessing and supporting individuals with reading difficulties. It helps to identify students needing more intensive reading instruction, diagnose specific reading disabilities, pinpoint strengths and weaknesses, and track reading progress over time, making it a valuable tool for educators and reading specialists.
One of the main benefits of this test is that it can also be used as part of a larger assessment battery to help diagnose specific reading disabilities, such as dyslexia. If you carry out dyslexia assessments in your school or setting, or your private practice, then we recommend adding the GORT5 to your assessment battery.

Academic Achievement Battery (AAB)
The Academic Achievement Battery (AAB) is a complete achievement assessment, offering both a comprehensive battery and a screening version for use with individuals throughout the individual’s lifespan.
The AAB helps identify an individual's strengths and weaknesses in specific academic areas, facilitating targeted interventions. The AAB can then also be used to track progress over time, providing insights into the effectiveness of interventions. Unlike some other assessments, the AAB does not require specialised certification to administer, making it widely accessible.
This test can be administered in about 90 minutes and scored in 15 minutes.
With this accessibility to assessors, and comprehensive battery, this makes the AAB a top choice in the shop!
